Efficient air distribution is fundamental to building performance, occupant comfort, and compliance with ventilation standards. MPM Mechanical Services delivers ductwork installations across commercial, residential, and industrial environments — from large-scale HVAC systems in high-rise developments to specialist kitchen extract and smoke control installations.
We fabricate and install ductwork to BESA (Building Engineering Services Association) standards, working closely with design teams, main contractors, and other M&E trades to ensure coordinated, on-programme delivery.
Our scope includes:
- Supply, extract, and fresh air ductwork systems
- Rectangular, circular, and flat-oval duct installations
- Kitchen extract and commercial ventilation systems
- Smoke extract, pressurisation, and fire-rated ductwork
- Acoustic ductwork and attenuator installation
- Ductwork insulation (thermal, acoustic, and anti-condensation)
- Grilles, diffusers, VAV boxes, and terminal unit connections
- Fan coil unit connections and integration with HVAC plant
- Air handling unit ductwork connections and commissioning
- Testing and commissioning to BESA TR/19 standards
Standards and compliance:
All ductwork installations are carried out to BESA DW/144 specification for rectangular ductwork and DW/154 for flexible ducting. Fire-rated systems are designed and installed in line with BS 476 and the requirements of Building Regulations Part B. Kitchen extract systems comply with BESA DW/172 and relevant fire suppression requirements.
Our approach:
Our engineers understand the coordination challenges that ductwork presents on live construction sites — routing conflicts, structural penetrations, acoustic isolation, and integration with ceilings and building fabric all require close collaboration. We work with BIM-coordinated drawings where required and maintain clear communication with main contractors to resolve clashes early and avoid programme delays.
From plant room AHU connections through to final terminal units and commissioning, MPM delivers ductwork installations built to last.
