The Newfoundland is a striking 60-storey residential skyscraper in Canary Wharf, one of the tallest residential buildings in London and a defining feature of the East London skyline. MPM Plumbing & Mechanical Services delivered mechanical and plumbing installation works on this landmark high-rise development, demonstrating our capability to perform in the most technically demanding residential construction environments.
About This Project
Rising to 220 metres, The Newfoundland is a landmark of the Canary Wharf skyline, delivering premium residential apartments with sweeping views across London. High-rise residential construction presents unique mechanical engineering challenges — high-pressure water systems, complex riser coordination, stack effect on drainage, and the logistical demands of working across 60 storeys in a live construction environment — all of which require engineers with significant experience and technical capability.
MPM’s scope on The Newfoundland included CHP plant room mechanical works, district heating distribution and HIU installations, domestic water services across all residential floors, and first and second fix plumbing within individual apartments. Our engineers coordinated closely with the main contractor’s programme, managing the complex sequencing of mechanical installation across a building of this height and scale.
